The Mezcal festival was a hoot, Miguel and I went together after the street processions, he's a psychedellic artist from Portugal and could not believe his eyes.. flabbergasted by everything he saw, his eyes were shining as he took in the crazy storybook that is Oaxaca.
I had a shot with the Governor of the city, he's not a good man, but I was drunk, he came up to me with his band of T.V and newspaper cameras and put his arm around me as I had a shot at one of the stalls.
I went along with it, though I would have loved to have thrown it at his face, he's the man responsible for the human rights abuses in Oaxaca, basically if anyone or anything is against him, he silences them whether through kidnappings or worse. Regardless, it was the inauguration and a photo op for him. I got interviewed for television, "what do you think of the state, where are you from, do you like mezcal?" Miguel got interviewed too, we laughed and laughed, I dont remember what I said and I never got to watch the interview on air.
We met two pretty girls who instantly took a liking to us, 'Rosa and Diosa' we called them (the rose and the godess), they invited us to a club and I dragged Miguel along. They shouted us beers and food, we danced, but they wouldnt kiss us because they had boyfriends, so we left. I stumbled home late, the neighbours saw me and commented on it the next day, they thought it was funny.
I complained to Josue, "why take us to a club if you have a boyrfriend?! stupid women, fft, im schrdunk, im goin to slepp.." and passed out.
